Fall 2020 Sunday Lincoln Park GRASS Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football – Week 3 Recap

TEFLON (2-1) v. Treason (0-3) – Sunday, October 4, and 2020

TEFLON and Treason competed in a close one in Week 3 of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. The final score of 12-8 reflects the hard work TEFLON put into every minute of the game. These guys, TEFLON, really fought hard for this one, prevailing, despite scoring less than their avg. points per game of 21.00. QB Dan Colin tossed two scores, passing to Leonta Bennett for one of them. Next up for TEFLON is a throwdown against IV:XX (2-2-0) coming up in Week 4 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Treason did not have their best stuff in this game in terms of offense, scoring less than their average of 10.70 ppg this season. Defensively however they were great as they held TEFLON to a season low of 12 points. Coming up in Week 4, Treason will try to break their winless streak against Legacy (1-1-0).

 

Evil (1-2) v. Reckless Abandon (3-1) – Sunday, October 4, and 2020

The underdog, Evil, defeated the favored Reckless Abandon crew by a final score of 14 to 6 in Week 3 of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. Evil really showed some fight in this one, prevailing, despite scoring less than their avg. points per game of 15.70. QB John Bowles threw one TD pass, which was caught by Sarah Lowe for their only offensive score in this game. Eric made a tremendous play to record a Defensive TD for Evil to help secure this huge Week 3 victory. Next up for Evil is a pairing against Da Band (3-0-0) coming up in Week 4 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Reckless Abandon really were unable to get rolling in this game, scoring less than their average of 18.00 ppg this year. For Reckless Abandon, in the loss, QB Josh Wagner hit Lance Hughes for their only score of the game. Their dreams for a perfect season ended on Sunday, but their opportunity to bring home the title is still alive and well. Next up for Reckless Abandon was a match-up with IV:XX as they were scheduled for the double header in Week 3.  More on this game below.

 

Reckless Abandon (3-1) v. IV:XX (2-2) – Sunday, October 4, and 2020

Reckless Abandon and IV:XX were very evenly matched in this one. By the score of 18-14, Reckless Abandon got a tight W and redeemed their loss from the game before. QB Josh Wagner once again led the charge for Reckless Abandon, tossing three TD passes to help lead his squad to their third win on the year. An undefeated Da Band (3-0-0) squad are next up on the calendar for Reckless Abandon coming up in Week 4, as they look to take back over first place in the league standings. IV:XX really struggled to get it going in this game, scoring less than their average of 18.00 points per game for the year. During the loss, QB Marcus Robinson hit Darla Harrison for one touchdown and scampered in for one with his legs. Unfortunately, it just was not enough to get past a determined Reckless Abandon crew. TEFLON (2-1-0) is next up on the schedule for IV:XX, as they try to bounce back from this tough defeat and record their third win on the year.

 

Legacy (1-1) v. The OGs (1-2) – Sunday, October 4, and 2020

With a final score of 29-18, Legacy hope to keep their winning momentum going as they creep towards the playoffs. Legacy really showed up on defense, tying their season points against average of 18.0 points per game. Myles Haggans delivered a three-touchdown performance, tossing two TD passes while also hauling in a TD pass of his own to put this game in the bag. Next up for Legacy is a Game versus Treason (0-3-0) coming up in Week 4 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. During the loss for The OGs, QB Chaz Duson hit Jon Calhoun for one touchdown and ran into the end zone for one. Unfortunately for QB Chaz Duson and the rest of THE Ogs crew, it just was not enough to get past a very tough Legacy side. NFG (1-2-0) are next up on the schedule for The OGs coming up in Week 4, as they look to get back on track.

 

Da Band (3-0) v. NFG (1-2) – Sunday, October 4, and 2020

Da Band and NFG were very evenly matched in this contest in Week 3 of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. With a final score of 21-20, Da Band remain undefeated. Da Band are the highest-scoring team in the league this season through the first three weeks, averaging 22.0 points per game. QB Blake Hammond passed two TDs, hitting Tomas Ross for one of them and rushed for one more. Coming up in Week 4, Da Band have a crucial match-up against Evil (1-2-0) in an attempt to remain unblemished and retain first place in the league standings. For NFG, QB James Davis tossed three TD passes, hitting Timothy Powell for one touchdown. Unfortunately, they came up just shy of recording the huge upset win. The OGs (1-2-0) are next up on the calendar for NFG, as they look to get back into the winner’s circle.
