Fall 2020 Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Flag Football League Recap – Week 6

Shockers (7-0) v. INDY Team #4 (1-6) – Saturday, October 31, 2020

Just like earlier in the season back in Week 3, Shockers won the rematch between these two groups in Week 6 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Flag Football League. Shockers put 33 on the board and held INDY Team #4 to 22 points. Shockers really showed some grit in this one, emerging victorious despite allowing more points than their season points against average of 14.6 points per game. QB Mike threw four TDs, finding Remi for two of them while connecting with James Zahurones and Christina Ridgeway for the others. Shockers could not celebrate this victory for too long however as they needed to step right back onto the field and take on Can’t Find the Cleat (1-5-1) in the second half of their scheduled Week 6 double header. For INDY Team #4, QB Chris Watson hit Antonio Macaraeg for their only offensive score of this game, unfortunately it just was not enough to keep pace with the highest scoring team in the league. INDY Team #4 finish the regular season portion of their schedule with an overall 1-6 record and will begin their postseason journey coming up on Saturday, November 14th as the overall #5 seed. They will take the field against #4 seed Can’t Find the Cleat (1-5-1) in the Quarterfinals with the winner advancing to take on #1 seed Shockers (7-0) in the Semifinals.

 

Flags & Flasks (5-1) v. The Ogg Balls (2-4-1) – Saturday, October 31, 2020

The Ogg Balls forfeited to Flags & Flasks in Week 6 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Flag Football League as they did not have enough available starters to field a legal team. The Week 6 victory makes it four wins in a row for Flags & Flasks as they conclude the regular season portion of their schedule with an overall 5-1 record. Flags & Flasks will begin their postseason campaign as the overall #2 seed and will take the field on Saturday, November 14th against this very same #3 seed The Ogg Balls squad in the Semifinals. Winner of this game will move on to the Championship game where they will compete for the league title. The Ogg Balls conclude the regular season portion of their schedule with an overall record of 2-4-1 and will begin their postseason journey as the overall #3 seed. They will take the field against this very same #2 seed Flags & Flasks squad in the Semifinals coming up on Saturday, Novemeber 14th with the winner moving along to the Championship game to compete for the league title.

 

Shockers (7-0) v. Can’t Find the Cleat (1-5-1) – Saturday, October 31, 2020

Shockers concluded the regular season portion of their schedule as the only unbeaten team in the league as they cruised past Can’t Find the Cleat 56-14 in the second half of their Week 6 double header in the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Flag Football League. QB Mike was unstoppable in this contest for Shockers, tossing six touchdown passes, finding Tom Doherty and Remi for two apiece. Shockers will begin their postseason journey coming up on Saturday, November 14th as the overall #1 seed and will take on the winner of the #4 seed Can’t Find the Cleat (2-4-1) vs. #5 seed INDY Team #4 game in the Semifinals. Winner of this game will move along and into the Championship game for a chance to claim the league title. Can’t Find the Cleat were unable to stop anything on defense in this game, allowing more points than their average of 45.60 PAPG for the year. In the loss for Can’t Find the Cleat, QB John Calzaretta connected with Luke Dawahare for their only two scores in this game. Can’t Find the Cleat conclude the regular season portion of their schedule with an overall record of 1-5-1 and will begin their postseason campaign as the overall #4 seed. They will take the field on Saturday, November 14th and take on #5 seed INDY Team #4 (1-6) in the Quarterfinals. Winner of this game will move along in to the Semifinals where they will take on #1 seed Shockers (7-0).
