Fall 2020 Saturday Lincoln Park GRASS Men’s INT Flag Football League Recap – Week 6

Mega Meat Skillet (3-4) v. Drones – East (1-5-1) – Saturday, October 31, and 2020

Earning the same result as they did back in Week 2, Mega Meat Skillet won the rematch between these two clubs to close out their regular season schedule in Week 6 of the Saturday Lincoln Park Men’s INT Flag Football League. Mega Meat Skillet put 19 on the board and held Drones – East to 13 points.  Mega Meat Skillet really showed up in this one, exceeding their average of 11.00 points per game. QB Ryan Mccarthy tossed two touchdown passes, connecting with Zach Mccarthy for one of them. This Week 6 victory sees Mega Meat Skillet close out their regular season schedule with a 3-4 record. They will begin their postseason campaign coming up on Saturday, November 14th as the overall #3 seed. They will take the field against #2 seed Saturdays are Ferda Boys (4-3) in the Semifinals with the winner of this game moving to the Championship game to compete for the League title. In the loss for Drones – East, QB Eric Martin hit Cameron Weikart for one touchdown while also rushing one in on the ground with his legs. Unfortunately, it just was not enough to get past a determined Mega Meat Skillet squad. Drones – East could not dwell on this though loss for too long however as they needed to step right back onto the field as they were scheduled for a double header in Week 6. Saturdays are Ferda Boys (4-3) v. Drones – East (1-5-1) – Saturday, October 31, and 2020

As was the case back in Week 4, Saturdays are Ferda Boys won the rematch between these two squads in a thrilling 14-13 final in Week 6 of the Saturday Lincoln Park Men’s INT 7v7 Flag Football League. Saturdays are Ferda Boys are the second highest scoring team in the league during the regular season, averaging 14.3 ppg. QB Jeff delivered two touchdowns in this game for Saturdays are Ferda Boys, one through the air which was caught by Keith Zelinske and the other on the ground with his legs. Saturdays are Ferda Boys could not celebrate this victory for too long however as they needed to step right back onto the field and take on Prosper Football (6-0-1) in the second half of their Week 6 double-header. More on this game below. Drones – East did everything they could to bounce back from their tough defeat from the game prior but came up just short once again in this contest. During the loss for Drones – East, Cameron Weikart and Mike each tossed one TD pass to help keep their squad in this game. Drones – East conclude their regular season schedule with a final record of 1-5-1 and will begin the upcoming postseason tournament as the overall #4 seed. They will take the field on Saturday, November 14th against #1 seed Prosper Football (6-0-1) in the Semifinals with the winner of this game moving along into the Championship game to compete for the League title.

 

Prosper Football (6-0-1) v. Saturdays are Ferda Boys (4-3) – Saturday, October 31, and 2020

Prosper Football concluded the regular season portion of their schedule as the only unbeaten team in the league as they defeated Saturdays are Ferda Boys 19-18 in a thrilling Week 6 encounter in the Saturday Lincoln Park Men’s INT 7v7 Flag Football League. Prosper Football really needed to fight for this one, emerging victorious despite allowing more points than their season points against average of 10.9 points per game. QB Jordan Hedeen delivered two TDs, connecting with Brandon Gates for one of them. Ryan Dicanio also came up huge on the defensive end of the field for Prosper Football, recording a Defensive TD to help their squad seal this crucial Week 6 victory. The win locks up the overall #1 seed for Prosper Football for the upcoming postseason tournament. They will begin their playoff journey on Saturday, November 14th against #4 seed Drones – East (1-5-1) in the Semifinals with the winner of this game moving along into the Championship game for a chance to compete for the league title. Saturdays are Ferda Boys really did everything they could in this one despite losing, beating their average of 14.30 points per game this season. During the loss, QB Jeff connected with Darnell Pearson and Michael Hackett for their only offensive scores in this game. Michael Hackett also came up huge defensively for Saturdays are Ferda Boys in this one as they recorded a Defensive TD to help keep their squad in this game. The Week 6 split sees Saturdays are Ferda Boys finish the regular season portion of their schedule with an overall 4-3 record and they will begin the upcoming postseason tournament as the overall #2 seed.
