Train Wreck (2-4-1) vs. Toe Ballers (3-2-2) – Wednesday, January 23, 2019

They weren’t the favored team, but Train Wreck, the #4 seed upset the #1 seed, Toe Ballers, in this semi-final game, 2-0. This is the second week in a row Train Wreck took home the win. The two MVPs in this match were the goalkeeper for Train Wreck, Jason Bates, who had a shutout, and Matt Ross who scored both goals in the game. Toe Ballers were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this game, but they’ve had 16 overall goals this season. Train Wreck is advancing to the championship game. They have a tough match ahead of them when they take on the #2 ranked team, Too Faced FC. These two met in week 1 and Too Faced FC won 5-4. This is the end of the road for Toe Ballers’s run in this league. There’s always next season.

 

Too Faced FC (4-3) vs. Pulisic’s Posse (3-3-1) – Wednesday, January 23, 2019

It was an exciting semi-final matches, in which the #3 seed, Too Faced FC, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #2 seed, Pulisic’s Posse, 3-2. The losing team still had notable players including Peter Beasley and Chris Thompson, who kicked one goal each for Pulisic’s Posse. Too Faced FC have a lot of scoring power. They’re averaging 3 goals per game. Luke and Claire both scored in this playoff win for Too Faced FC, putting two and one shots respectively past the Pulisic’s Posse goalkeeper, David Zak. This is the end of the road for Pulisic’s Posse’s run in this league. There’s always next season.  The win for Too Faced FC advances them to the championship game where they’ll take on the #4 seed, Train Wreck.
