Fall 2018 Thursday Lincoln Park Coed Rec Flag Football -Week 7 (Playoffs)

Jordan Crawford’s Finest (3-5) v. Sacks and Racks (0-7) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

In this play-in game, the #14 seed, Jordan Crawford’s Finest, took on the #19 seed, Sacks and Racks. The final score of 46-19 reflects the hard work Jordan Crawford’s Finest put into every minute of the game.  Jordan Crawford’s Finest really brought it, exceeding their average of 27.80 ppg. QB Ricky Garcia delivered five touchdowns, finding Mike for three of them, and Chris Francois and Kevin Kirchner for the other two. Sacks and Racks really gave everything they had on in terms of scoring in this one even though they lost, beating their average of 11.30 points per game this year. In the loss, QB Adam Howard hit James Nanavati and Ryan O’Maley each for one touchdown and rushed for one more. Jordan Crawford’s Finest will continue on their road to victory. It also means they had another game in the same night. Double headers are either great because players are warmed up for the second game, or a challenge because their legs are dead. Past Our Primetime (2-6) v. GT Football (3-4) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

They weren’t the favored team, but Past Our Primetime, the #18 seed upset the #15 seed, GT Football, in this play-in game. By the score of 41-12, Past Our Primetime got a lopsided victory to earn their third-straight W. Past Our Primetime brought it in this one, exceeding their average of 20.00 points per game. QB Tony Karafiat passed four TDs, hitting Giovanny Avendano, Emily Harig, Cathy Moran, and Hugo Hellegos each for one of them. In the loss for GT Football, QB Lauren Schick and Jack M hit both Chris and Jack M for one touchdown. Winning this play-in game means Past Our Primetime advanced to the next round of playoffs. It also means they had another game in the same night. GT Football is done with playoffs, which means it’s time for a team meeting at the bar to regroup for next season!

 

Bucky’s Sack (3-5) v. Flag Strippers (2-5) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

In this play-off game, the #16 seed, Flag Strippers, took on the #17 seed, Bucky’s Sack. With a final score of 33-18, Bucky’s Sack have their eyes on the coveted championship shirts. Bucky’s Sack brought it in this game, exceeding their average of 20.00 points per game. QB Danny Davis threw four scores, passing to Kevin Kazlow for two of them, and Colleen Degnan and Keely Murphy for the other two.  During the loss for Flag Strippers, QB Kameron Bouchard hit both Kevin Hein and Nicholas Swiatkowski for one touchdown and ran in one other. Bucky’s Sack continues on their road to victory. Since the next round was a double header for these guys, check out the game recap below to see how they did! Bucky’s Sack (3-5) v. CheapTickets (6-2) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

In this exciting 3-point play-in game, Bucky’s Sack, the #17 seed upset the #1 seed, CheapTickets. With a final score of 51-48, Bucky’s Sack have their eyes on the coveted championship shirts.  Bucky’s Sack brought their A game in this one, beating their average of 20.00 points per game. QB Danny Davis threw seven scores, finding Kevin Kazlow for six of them and Megan Layer for the other one.  During the loss for CheapTickets, QB Ethan Lohmann hit Sebastian Stankiewicz and Anastasia Truesdell for two touchdowns each, Katie Mays and Madison for one each, and then rushed for one. Winning this play-in game means Bucky’s Sack advanced to Quarter-Finals. Next week, they will face the #9 seeded team, Park at the Park. If the #17 seed can come this far and take the #1 seed out of the play-offs, there’s no telling what kind of surprises the championship game will bring. CheapTickets had a great run this season, but they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs.

 

Midway BlitZ (6-1) v. Past Our Primetime (2-6) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

Midway BlitZ, the #2 seed, played the #18 seed, Past Our Primetime in this Play-in game.  Midway BlitZ put 42 on the board and held Past Our Primetime to 18 points. QB Dino Vazquez delivered four TDs, finding Luke  for two of them, Monet Mailey and Kate Doughty for one each, and then rushed in one on his own.  In the loss, QB Tony Karafiat hit Mike Brandenberg for two touchdowns, and Gio for one. Midway BlitZ continues on the path to the championship. Next week, they will face the #7 seeded team, Smiling Politely. Midway BlitZ is the favored team, but anything can happen in playoffs. Unfortunately for Past Our Primetime, this loss means the end of their season.

 

Accounts Playable (5-1) v. Jordan Crawford’s Finest (3-5) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

It was an exciting play-in match, in which the #3 seed, Accounts Playable, just barely locked in the win with a 2-point margin against the #14 seed, Jordan Crawford’s Finest. Accounts Playable put 41 on the board and held Jordan Crawford’s Finest to 39 points. Accounts Playable showed up, exceeding their average of 36.20 points per game. QB Michael Scherpenberg delivered two TDs, finding both Matthew Lynch and Teddy Gerner for one of them and ran for two more. Even with a loss Jordan Crawford’s Finest really gave everything they had in terms of scoring in this game, topping their average of 27.80 points per game for the year. In the loss, QB Alexis Carravetta hit Stephen Barrett for three touchdowns. Accounts Playable will go on the next round of play-offs. Next week, they will face the #11 seeded team, PG Warriors. Accounts Playable are the favored team, but anything can happen in playoffs. Jordan Crawford’s Finest’s loss means they are done in this single-elimination playoff schedule.

 

Burn Early (6-1) v. Sell-side Stiff Arms (1-5) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

Sell-side Stiff Arms forfeited to Burn Early. Winning this play-in game means Burn Early advances to Quarter-Finals. Next week, they will face the #12 seeded team, INDY Team #11.

 

INDY Team #11 (3-4) v. We Ain’t Come to Play School (5-3) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

In this close play-in game, INDY Team #11, the #12 seed upset the #5 seed, We Ain’t Come to Play School. INDY Team #11 put 25 on the board and held We Ain’t Come to Play School to 19 points.  INDY Team #11 stepped up, topping their average of 20.40 ppg. QB Nick Fackler threw three scores, hitting Casey Brandt for two of them and Jean Henegan for the other one.  In the loss for We Ain’t Come to Play School, QB Sarah Lowe hit Colin R for one touchdown. INDY Team #11 wll advance their road to victory. Next week, they will face the #4 seeded team, Burn Early. On the bright side for We Ain’t Come to Play School, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.

 

PG Warriors (3-4) v. Big Ch*ty (4-4) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

Heading into this play-in game, Big Ch*ty were coming off a forfeit and didn’t get the chance to play to prepare for this week. They were the #6 seed facing the #11 seed, PG Warriors. With their higher rank, Big Ch*ty went into this game thinking they would be going on to Quarter-Finals. With a final score of 44-43, PG Warriors surprisingly ended up grabbing this W. PG Warriors put 44 on the board and held Big Ch*ty to 43 points. PG Warriors really brought their A game in this one, topping their average of 19.00 ppg. QB Ben delivered four touchdowns, passing to Jimmy Holloran for three of them, and Jeff for the other.  For Big Ch*ty, QB Spencer Strup, Ashley Tiestram, and Matt Casey hit Spencer Strup for two touchdowns, and Matt Casey, Ashley Triestram, Evin, and Ben for the other scores . The win for PG Warriors means a ticket to quarter-finals.  Next week, they will face the #3 seeded team, Accounts Playable.

 

Smiling Politely (5-2) v. No Punt Intended (2-5) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

In this play-off game, the #7 seed, Smiling Politely, took on the #10 seed, No Punt Intended. With a final score of 34-14, Smiling Politely is fired up and ready for the next match.  Smiling Politely really brought their A game in this one, beating their average of 26.10 points per game. QB Mike Regent delivered five scores, finding Brad for two of them, and Joe, Katie, and Shane for the other three.  During the loss, QB Dan hit Brian Villar for a touchdown. Winning this play-in game means Smiling Politely advances to Quarter-Finals. Next week, they will face the #2 seeded team, Midway BlitZ. No Punt Intended is done with playoffs, which means it’s time for a team meeting at the bar to regroup for next season!

 

Park at the Park (6-1) v. Hub-a-dub (4-3) – Thursday, October 25, and 2018

Hub-a-dub were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 42 points last week. They were the #8 seed facing the #9 seed, Park at the Park. With their higher rank and momentum from last week, Hub-a-dub went into this game thinking they would be advancing to the quarter-finals with ease. With a final score of 27-20, Park at the Park ended up taking the W. Park at the Park put 27 on the board and held Hub-a-dub to 20 points. This team really showed some toughness in this one, emerging victorious despite allowing more points than their season points against average of 17.1 points per game. QB Jenna Ayotte threw one TD, which was caught by Joshua Beachler. During the loss, QB Nick hit  Hernandez for one touchdown and rushed for one more. Park at the Park will face the #17 seeded team, Bucky’s Sack. Park at the Park is the favored team, but Bucky’s Sack did defeat the #1 seed so who knows what will happy. The key to play-offs are to have no expectations and play hard. Hub-a-dub’s loss means they are done in this single-elimination playoff schedule.
