Make Mia Hamm Sandwich (4-1) vs. Hot Messi (1-4) – Thursday, January 10, and 2019

Make Mia Hamm Sandwich and Hot Messi competed a close one up to the last minute with a final score of 3-2. Hot Messi really struggled defensively in this one, giving up more goals than their average of 2.2 goals against per game this year. Jose Vidal was the star player for Hot Messi this week. He scored both goals for his team. Make Mia Hamm Sandwich is having a fantastic offensive season. They’re averaging 4 goals per game. Lauren Bosco kicked two goals and Al Renner kicked one goal to help earn the group the W.  Next up for Hot Messi is a battle against Misfits (2-2-1), as they look to rebound.  Next up for Make Mia Hamm Sandwich is a match-up versus aTracktive44 (3-3-0).

 

Cheeky Monkey (2-3) vs. INDY Team #9 (0-6) – Thursday, January 10, and 2019

Cheeky Monkey beat INDY Team #9 9-3 in this game. Cheeky Monkey showed up in this game, topping their average of 2.6 goals per game. JD and Don fired two goals to steer the team’s offense. Also providing some scoring was Mark Araci, James Larew, Kevin, Dani, and Molly with one goal each. This heartbreaking loss comes when INDY Team #9 scored their personal best of the season. Ryan Morrissey was the star player for INDY Team #9 this week. He scored all three goals for them. Next up for Cheeky Monkey is a Game against Game of Throw-Ins (4-1-0). Next week, INDY Team #9 will attempt to break their winless streak against Loose Balls (3-1-1).

 

Chicago Handshakes (4-1) vs. aTracktive44 (3-3) – Thursday, January 10, and 2019

Chicago Handshakes controlled this game in shut out fashion against aTracktive44 with a final score of 2-0. aTracktive44 didn’t have their best stuff in this one and failed to make it onto the scoreboard.  Make Mia Hamm Sandwich (4-1-0) is next up on the calendar for aTracktive44, as they attempt to bounce back. Chicago Handshakes continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire. The club’s goalkeeper Dustin Bender made sure aTracktive44 would not score. To guide the club’s offense, Evans Thornton and Michael Koho scored one goal each. Next up for Chicago Handshakes is a showdown versus Gogo (2-3-0).

 

Loose Balls (3-1-1) vs. Gogo (2-3) – Thursday, January 10, and 2019

Loose Balls beat Gogo 3-1 in this game. Loose Balls showed up, surpassing their average of 1.8 goals per game. Kathryn Palano kicked two goals and earned the most tallies on the scoresheet. Next up for Loose Balls is a pairing versus INDY Team #9 (0-6-0).  It’s week 5 and Gogo has only scored a total of 5 goals all season. Viyon Kuton scored the only goal for Gogo to save their team from embarrassment.  Next up for Gogo is a showdown against Chicago Handshakes (4-1-0), as they attempt to rebound.

 

Misfits (1-2-2) vs. Game of Throw-Ins (4-0-1) – Thursday, January 10, and 2019

The underdog, Misfits (currently ranked 5th in the league) ended all tied up with the favored Game of Throw-Ins (currently ranked 1st) with a final score of 2-2. For Misfits, Marc Kozak and Peter Woods each fired one goal to provide some scoring. Next up for Misfits is a contest against Hot Messi (1-4-0). This is Game of Throw-Ins’s first tie of the season, but it didn’t impact their #1 ranking in the league. They still had notable players including Matt Stearns and Nicole LaFonte, who netted one goal each for Game of Throw-Ins. Cheeky Monkey (2-3-0) is next up on the schedule for Game of Throw-Ins, as they look to rebound.
