Cat Facts FC (5-2-1) vs. INDY Team #7 (1-6) – Saturday, January 26, 2019

The #7 seed, INDY Team #7, forfeited to the #2 seed, Cat Facts FC in this Quarter-Final game. INDY Team #7 is done with playoffs, which means it’s time for a team meeting at the bar to regroup for next season!  The win for Cat Facts FC means a ticket to semi-finals. They’re scheduled to play the #3 ranked team, Squad Goals. When they played each other earlier this season, Cat Facts FC won 4-3.

 

Squad Goals (5-2) vs. Turtle Shells (2-6) – Saturday, January 26, 2019

In this quarter-final game, the #3 seed, Squad Goals, took on the #6 seed, Turtle Shells. Squad Goals are heating up with two wins in a row. Aaron Myer is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Squad Goals. Helping on the offense, Daniel Schmoll and Adam Kunkel were among those who scored in this playoff win for Squad Goals. This week’s win advances Squad Goals to semi-finals. They’ll face the #2 ranked team, Cat Facts FC in a rematch. Last time they played each other Cat Facts FC won 4-3. Turtle Shells struggled to get it going in this game and suffered a shutout. Turtle Shells’ loss means they are done in this single-elimination playoff schedule.

 

Jimmy Saville’s U10s (4-3-2) vs. Delaps Dozen (2-5-1) – Saturday, January 26, 2019

The 4th place vs 5th place game is always one of the most exciting matches of the playoff bracket. With a final score of 2-1, Jimmy Saville’s U10s grabbed this W. To make things even more interesting, the last time these two teams met in week 5, they tied 2-2. Rupert Price leads Jimmy Saville’s U10s this season in scoring and added another goal to their stats this week bringing Rupert Price’s personal total to 6. Also scoring in this quarter-final game was Karim Maalouf. Jimmy Saville’s U10s advanced to semi-finals, and without a week to rest, jumped right into it as a double header. See how they did by reading the next recap. Delaps Dozen really were unable to get rolling in terms of scoring in this one, scoring less than their average of 2.3 GPG this year. Maggie Kistner scored the only goal for Delaps Dozen to save her team from a shut-out. This is the end of the road for Delaps Dozen’s run in this league. There’s always next season!

 

Jimmy Saville’s U10s (4-3-2) vs. Team America (6-1) – Saturday, January 26, 2019

They weren’t the favored team, but Jimmy Saville’s U10s, the #4 seed upset the #1 seed, Team America, in this semi-final games. Jimmy Saville’s U10s had a double header. Impressively, they won both matches, which means they’re officially heating up! Tara D’Agostino scored in this playoff win for Jimmy Saville’s U10s, putting two shots past the Team America goalkeeper, Nick . This is Team America’s first loss of the season, but unfortunately this was the only one that truly mattered. Michael Gallimore scored the only goal for Team America to get his team on the board. The win for Jimmy Saville’s U10s advances them to the championship game where they’ll take on the # seed, undefined. Team America had a great run this season, but they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs.
