Fall 2018 Monday Lincoln Park GRASS Coed 8v8 – Week 6

KH Kicks (4-2-1) vs. Can I Kick It? (3-2-2) – Monday, October 22, and 2018

Earlier in the season, these teams tied, but KH Kicks grabbed a 3-2 win against Can I Kick It? in this rematch. Can I Kick It? struggled defensively in this game, giving up more goals than their average of 1.6 goals against per game for the year. The losing team still had notable players including Justin Fleischmann and Mihir Swaroop, who each accounted for one goal for Can I Kick It?. Despite the loss this week, Can I Kick It? locked in their spot at the #3 seed. They’ll face the #6 seeded team, CannonDesign (2-4-1). The last time these teams met they tied, so next week’s match-up could be a close one. They’re on fire! Eddie Min kicked two goals and Stacey Weismann kicked one goal to help earn the team the win. KH Kicks’ win this week locked them in as the #2 seed. They’ll face the #7 seeded team, Stantec. The last time these teams met, KH Kicks won 6-1.

 

Boarding Group 6 (3-3-1) vs. CannonDesign (2-4-1) – Monday, October 22, and 2018

With the same ending result as earlier this season, Boarding Group 6 won the second go-around against CannonDesign. This game finished with a final score of 6-0.  To help gain the group the win, Nicolas B scored one goal. Boarding Group 6’s win this week locked them in as the #4 seed. They’ll face the #5 seeded team, INDY Team #3. The last time these teams met, the game ended in a tie at 2-2. This was one of two games for CannonDesign this week. In contrast to their other game, the defense crumbled in critical moments, and they now sit in 6th place in the standings. The loss for CannonDesign leaves them as the #6 seed heading into playoffs. They’ll face the #3 seeded team, Can I Kick It? (3-2-2).

 

CannonDesign (2-4-1) vs. Stantec (2-4) – Monday, October 22, and 2018

With two games on their schedule this week, CannonDesign used this game against Stantec to give them an extra win before playoffs with a final score of 1-0. Stantec was unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this one, and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. CannonDesign had a double header this week. This was the better played match, which helped them lock in their #6 rank in the standings table. To help get the club the victory, Tomas Cantu-Martinez lasered in one goal. This loss for Stantec pushes them down to the #7 seed. They’ll face the #2 seeded team, KH Kicks (4-2-1). The last time these teams met KH Kicks won 6-1.  CannonDesign’s win this week locked them in as the #6 seed. They’ll face the #3 seeded team, Can I Kick It?.

 

Lurie Children’s (4-2) vs. INDY Team #3 (2-3-1) – Monday, October 22, and 2018

Lurie Children’s put on a show on both sides of the pitch against INDY Team #3 with a final score of 3-0. This loss for INDY Team #3 pushes them down to the #5 seed. They’ll face the #4 seeded team, Boarding Group 6 (3-3-1). The last time these teams met they tied, so next week’s match-up could be a close one. This win is the second in a row for Lurie Children’s, and it bumps them to 1st place in the standings. Pogba scored a hat trick with three goals to help earn the club the victory. Can they keep the streak going when they play the winner of the #4 vs. #5 seed game?
