Fall 2018 Lincoln Park GRASS Coed Rec Flag Football – Week 8

3rd and Schlong (7-0) v. JLL (0-7) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

3rd and Schlong, the #2 seed, played JLL, the #15 seed, in this play-in game.  With a final score of 47-7, 3rd and Schlong maintains a zero in the loss column this season.  3rd and Schlong brought their A game, beating their average of 37.90 points per game. QB Anthony threw six touchdowns, finding Sean for two of them, and Mady Temple, Rachael Lenderman, Cody, and Dan for on touchdown each, and scampered for one with his legs.  For JLL, QB Meg Ryan hit Alex Schroeder for one touchdown. The win for 3rd and Schlong means a ticket to quarter-finals. Next week, they will face the #10 seeded team, The Bad Guys. 3rd and Schlong is the favored team, but anything can happen in playoffs. This is the end of the road for JLL’s run in this league. There’s always next season!

 

Hurricane Ditka (7-0) v. Kiss My Endzone (1-6) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

In this play-in game, the #3 seed, Hurricane Ditka, took on the #14 seed, Kiss My Endzone. With a final score of 40-13, Hurricane Ditka remains undefeated. This team really showed up on defense in this one, beating their season points against average of 16.4 ppg. QB Mike Hennessey passed five touchdowns, passing to Matthew Barabasz and Octavian Soare each for two of them.  During the loss, QB Chase Ramsey hit Preston Pena for one touchdown and scampered in for one. Winning this play-in game means Hurricane Ditka advances to Quarter-Finals. Next week, they will face the #6 seeded team, Back That Pass Up. On the bright side for Kiss My Endzone, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.

 

Show Us Dem TD’s (6-2) v. INDY Team #11 (1-6) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

In this play-in game, the #4 seed, Show Us Dem TD’s, took on the #13 seed, INDY Team #11. Show Us Dem TD’s put 34 on the board and held INDY Team #11 to 6 points. These guys brought their A game on D, beating their season points against average of 13.9 ppg. QB Phillip Nardi passed three TDs, finding Matt Corso, Kelsey Knapp, and Mary Laethem for one TD each and ran in two on his own. During the loss for INDY Team #11, QB Maria Schuster hit Jesus Martin for one touchdown. Show Us Dem TD’s continues on their road to victory. Next week, they will face the #5 seeded team, InnerWorkings. INDY Team #11 is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon.

 

InnerWorkings (5-2) v. Boatyard Dogs (1-6) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

Looks like Boatyard Dogs forfeited to InnerWorkings this week. The win for InnerWorkings means a ticket to quarter-finals.  Next week, they will face the #4 seeded team, Show Us Dem TD’s. Boatyard Dogs is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon.

 

Back That Pass Up (5-2) v. No Punt Intended (2-6) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

Back That Pass Up confidently took the win to advance to Quarter-Finals by the score of 31-20, against No Punt Intended. QB Joe Memmolo Jr. passed four TDs, finding Steve for two of them, Emily Diehl and Peter Tzioumis for one each, and scampered in one on his own.  In the loss for No Punt Intended, QB Robert Schaus hit Kyle Meder for two touchdowns. The win for Back That Pass Up means a ticket to quarter-finals. Next week, they will face the #3 seeded team, Hurricane Ditka. On the bright side for No Punt Intended, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.

 

The Bad Guys (3-4) v. Beer Force One (3-5) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

They weren’t the favored team, but The Bad Guys, the #10 seed upset the #7 seed, Beer Force One, in this play-in game. With a final score of 49-19, The Bad Guys earned their third-straight win.  The Bad Guys really brought their A game in this game, topping their average of 21.10 ppg. QB Michael Garai passed two TDs, hitting Eva Lagos and Dan Conway for one each and rushed for three more.  In the loss, QB Mike Logan hit Prunil Patel and Enrique Gonzalez for one touchdown each. The Bad Guys will continue on their road to victory. Next week, they will face the #2 seeded team, 3rd and Schlong. Hopefully the loss doesn’t haunt Beer Force One too much. There’s always next season.

 

Team Indy #19 (5-3) v. Flaggy With a Chance of Footballs (3-5) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

The win for Team Indy #19 means a ticket to quarter-finals. They advanced to the quarter-final game right after this one. Read about the outcome of that game below. On the bright side for Flaggy With a Chance of Footballs, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.

 

Team Indy #19 (5-3) v. Mud Dogs (6-1) – Wednesday, November 14, and 2018

They weren’t the favored team, but Team Indy #19, the #9 seed upset the #1 seed, Mud Dogs, in this Quarter-final game. Team Indy #19 put 27 on the board and held Mud Dogs to 20 points.  These guys brought it on defense, beating their season points against average of 22.5 ppg. Their Defense did enough to earn the win in this one as well.  For Mud Dogs, in the loss, QB Connor Jennings hit Anthon Moore for two touchdowns. This win advanced Team Indy #19 to semi-finals. They will play the winner of the #4 vs. #5 seed game. On the bright side for Mud Dogs, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.
