Fall 2018 CIBC Thurs Coed Rec Soccer – Week 3

Game of Throw-Ins (3-0) vs. aTracktive44 (2-2) – Thursday, December 13, and 2018

In this match, Game of Throw-Ins beat aTracktive44 6-1. Winning all of their games so far this season, Game of Throw-Ins seem to be the team to try to beat. Both Nikhil Shah and Dainis Berzins scored two goals to steer the club’s attack. Jackie Brassard and Nicole LaFonte also scored one goal each for Game of Throw-Ins. aTracktive44 increased their total goal differential to 1. Alex Weinstein scored the only goal for aTracktive44 to save their team from embarrassment. Next week, Game of Throw-Ins battles against Make Mia Hamm Sandwich (3-0-0) in an attempt to remain undefeated. Next up for aTracktive44 is a showdown against Cheeky Monkey (1-2-0), as they try to bounce back.

 

Loose Balls (2-0-1) vs. aTracktive44 (2-2) – Thursday, December 13, and 2018

Loose Balls and aTracktive44 had a defensive battle, with a combined score of three goals. Loose Balls took home the 2-1 victory. aTracktive44 had two games this week. Both matches were losses dropping them to the #5 rank in the standings. Alex Weinstein scored the only goal for aTracktive44 to get their team on the board. Loose Balls seems to have found their groove and has won two games in a row. Kathryn Palano and Daniel Nelson lasered in one goal each to help get the squad the W.  Next up for aTracktive44 is a battle against Cheeky Monkey (1-2-0), as they try to bounce back. Loose Balls will look to remain unbeaten next week with a contest versus Chicago Handshakes (2-1-0).

 

Gogo (1-2) vs. INDY Team #9 (0-4) – Thursday, December 13, and 2018

This is the 3rd week and both teams were still on the hunt for their first win of the season. Finally breaking their losing streak, Gogo took home an exciting win against INDY Team #9 with a final score of 1-0. Gogo really showed up on defense in this one, beating their season goals against average of 3.0 GPG.  Their goalkeeper Ross Burnett deserves much of the credit after earning a clean sheet. Viyon Kuton accounted for one goal. Next up for Gogo is a battle versus Hot Messi (1-2-0). INDY Team #9 had a double header this week. They lost both matches giving them a 4-game losing streak. INDY Team #9 looks to get on the board with a win next week against Misfits (0-2-1).

 

Hot Messi (1-2) vs. INDY Team #9 (0-4) – Thursday, December 13, and 2018

Both teams entered this match looking for their first win of the season. Finally breaking their losing streak, Hot Messi took home a close win against INDY Team #9 with a final score of 2-1. Hot Messi continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire. Alexandra Vigilante and Lukas Keapproth both kicked one goal to lead the club’s attack. This was one of two games for INDY Team #9. Sadly, they lost both matches putting them at a 4-game losing streak. Michael Roeder scored the only goal for INDY Team #9 to prevent the shut out. Gogo (1-2-0) are next up on the docket for Hot Messi, as they look to keep it going. Next week, INDY Team #9 battles against Misfits (0-2-1) in an attempt to get their first win.

 

Make Mia Hamm Sandwich (3-0) vs. Cheeky Monkey (1-2) – Thursday, December 13, and 2018

Make Mia Hamm Sandwich absolutely dominated this game in shut out fashion against Cheeky Monkey with a final score of 7-0. Currently undefeated, Make Mia Hamm Sandwich sits in 1st place in the standings with 3 wins. The club’s goalie Al Renner is credited with the shutout. To steer the group’s attack, Lauren Bosco and Arthur Dinverno had two goals each. Elizabeth Royston, Annaliese Wallsten, and Mike Martin also provided some scoring with one goal each. Cheeky Monkey struggled to get it going in this one and suffered a shutout. Make Mia Hamm Sandwich will attempt to remain perfect next week with a contest versus Game of Throw-Ins (3-0-0). aTracktive44 (2-2-0) is next up on the docket for Cheeky Monkey, as they attempt to bounce back.

 

Chicago Handshakes (2-1) vs. Misfits (0-2-1) – Thursday, December 13, and 2018

Chicago Handshakes beat Misfits 3-1 in this game. This heartbreaking loss comes when Misfits scored their personal best of the season. Peter Woods scored the only goal for Misfits to save his team from embarrassment. Chicago Handshakes really brought their A game in this game, exceeding their average of 2.0 goals per game. Michael Koho scored two goals to steer the club’s offense. Next week, Misfits battles against INDY Team #9 (0-4-0) in an attempt to get off the schneid. Next up for Chicago Handshakes is a match-up against Loose Balls (2-0-1).
