COVID-19 Preventative Measures
Thank you for your participation in our Chicago Sport and Social Club league this season. We are writing to update you on our plan for our leagues amid the concerns related to the COVID-19 virus.
Our mission is to provide fun and enriching events to Chicagoans and our first concern is the health and safety of all of our participants, staff and our community. We are therefore moving forward with our leagues while closely monitoring the situation and working with our facility locations to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment for play. We have been monitoring recommendations from leading health and community organizations and feel comfortable that our leagues can still be played.
We have a few recommendations that we would like everyone to follow so that we have a healthy environment for our leagues. We will be following these recommendations for our staff and with our facility locations as well. We have taken these recommendations directly from the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control, and they are consistent with many other resources we have consulted. Our recommendations are:
- If you feel sick or have been in close contact with someone who is sick, please stay home and take care of yourself.
- Practice good hygiene. Please be sure to wash your hands, limit handshaking, touching your eyes, nose and mouth, etc.
As noted above, we are working closely with our facility locations and we are all in agreement. If there are cases of COVID-19 that become documented at any of our league locations, we will communicate this to all league participants from that location. We will then reassess the situation and take any necessary precautions we may need to add to ensure an environment healthy for play, including postponing games if necessary.
We appreciate everyone’s participation and understanding of the situation and all of our roles in keeping our playing environments clean and healthy. We look forward to seeing you on the fields and courts!
