Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Men’s 7v7 Flag Football League Recap – Week 5

River Shannons (2-3) v. Grand Theft Auto (2-3) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

William Walker was all over the field for River Shannons in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Men’s INT Flag Football League as he recorded a Passing TD, Rushing TD and Defensive TD to help River Shannons secure a hard-fought 19-13 win over Grand Theft Auto. The final score of 19-13 reflects the hard work River Shannons put into every minute of the game. River Shannons really brought it in this one, beating their average of 11.80 points per game. QB William Walker connected with Doug Wagner for one score to help secure their second win of the season.  Next up for River Shannons is a date against Money Team (4-1-0) coming up in Week 6, as they look to secure their third straight victory prior to the postseason starting. During the loss for Grand Theft Auto, QB Matt Finnander hit Ryan Porter for one touchdown. Ryan Porter also tallied a Defensive TD to help keep his squad in this game, unfortunately it just was not enough to get past a determined River Shannons crew. legion of boom (4-1-0) are next up on the calendar for Grand Theft Auto coming up in Week 6, as they look to bring their record up to the .500 mark prior to the postseason beginning.

 

Money Team (4-1) v. Da Beers (0-5) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

Da Beers forfeited to Money Team in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Men’s INT 7v7 Flag Football League as they did not have enough available players to field a legal team. River Shannons (2-3-0) are next up on the docket for Money Team coming up in Week 6, as they look to secure a top-two playoff seed. Coming up in Week 6, Da Beers will try to put a 1 in the win column with a match-up versus Chicago Steelers (3-2-0) as they look to gain some momentum prior to the postseason beginning.

 

Chicago Steelers (3-2) v. legion of boom (4-1) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

Chicago Steelers and legion of boom competed in a low scoring affair in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Men’s INT 7v7 Flag Football League, totaling 14 points. Unfortunately for legion of boom, they were on the wrong end of the 14-0 result, suffering their first defeat of the year. The final score of 14-0 reflects the hard work Chicago Steelers put into every minute of the game. Chicago Steelers battled for this game, earning the win, despite scoring less than their average points per game of 16.80. QB Vin delivered one TD pass, which was caught by Adam Haus and scampered for one with his legs to help knock off the last undefeated team in the league. Chicago Steelers will close out their regular season schedule against Da Beers (0-5-0) coming up in Week 6, as they look to secure a top-three playoff seed. legion of boom really did not have their best stuff on the offensive end in this one, scoring less than their average of 22.80 points per game for the year. For legion of boom, this was the first time they have been shut out all season long. Legion of boom will need to shake off this loss quickly as they have another tough match-up coming up in Week 6 against Grand Theft Auto (2-3-0) to close out their regular season schedule.
