Grass Kickers (2-0) vs. Torts Illustrated (0-2) – Wednesday, September 16, 2020

Grass Kickers were amazing in this shut out against Torts Illustrated with a final score of 5-0. Torts Illustrated really were unable to get rolling in this one, scoring fewer than their total from their first game. Grass Kickers are heating up, winning both of their games so far this season. Gwen racked up a hat trick to help gain the squad the win.  As for Torts Illustrated next on the calendar is INDY Team #5 (0-2-0) as they look to bounce back from this lopsided week 2 defeat. Grass Kickers will look to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 3. This week Grass Kickers will line-up against Trailblazers (2-0-0).

 

FIS FC (1-1) vs. Kick in a Box (1-1) – Wednesday, September 16, 2020

FIS FC played well here and blanked Kick in a Box with a final score of 3-0. Kick in a Box really did not have their best stuff in terms of scoring in this one, netting less than their total from their Week 1 victory. FIS FC really stepped up, exceeding their opening night point total. FIS FC’s goalie Christopher Morgan played very well in the shut out. Maria Broecker, Sergio Miranda and Andrew Hong each kicked one goal to help get the team the W. As for Kick in a Box they will move on to a pairing with Plant Based Plants (2-0-0) as they strive to come back from this disheartening defeat. Let’s Get Messi’s goalkeeper Seth Thoth deserves a shout out for helping blank the Team Titans’s offense. Willie Thompson and Erin Dirks each kicked one goal to help get the team the W. For Let’s Get Messi, next up is a match-up against Them (0-1-1), as they go for their second straight victory. Team Titans really were unable to get rolling in terms of scoring in this game, netting fewer than their total from their opening night match. As for Team Titans they will move on to a throwdown against Chicago Lightfooters FC (2-0-0) as they strive to get to their first victory of the season.

 

Plant Based Plants (2-0) vs. Loins (0-2) – Wednesday, September 16, 2020

Plant Based Plants were amazing in this shut out against Loins with a final score of 5-0 in Week 2. Plant Based Plants are heating up, winning both of their games so far this season. Sam Viola scored a hat trick to spearhead the team’s attack. JP Perez and Molly Start also netted a goal apiece to help secure the victory. Trailblazers (2-0) vs. INDY Team #5 (0-2) – Wednesday, September 16, 2020

 

Trailblazers absolutely dominated this game in shut out fashion against INDY Team #5 with a final score of 7-0. Trailblazers are heating up, winning both of their games so far this season. Trailblazers’s goalie Mike Coutre should receive a ton of praise for the clean sheet. Mike Goldberg and Preston each kicked two goals to steer the club’s attack. Kevin Henington, Adam Altman and Mari Greenberg were all able to get onto the scorer’s sheet as well for Trailblazers in this contest. Grass Kickers (2-0-0) are next on the docket for Trailblazers, as they go for their third straight victory to open the season. INDY Team #5 were unable to put up much of a defense in this one, giving up more goals than their first matchup. Peanut Gallery are heating up, winning both of their games so far this season and leading the league in total goals scored with 12 through the first two weeks. David Sippel was unstoppable and contributed 4 goals to guide the squad’s attack. Davide Harris also contributed to the team’s final score notching his first goal of the season. A brace by Alex Rohder lifted TQL to a 3-2 thrilling victory over Rooney Toons in Week 2 at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. TQL really brought their A game, exceeding their first game point total. Ciaran Mcgoldrick knocked in the winning goal to help seal the victory. For TQL, every week is a critical opportunity for them to gather wins early on. This week TQL will compete with Peanut Gallery (2-0-0) in a crucial week 3 matchup. Rooney Toons really gave everything they had in terms of scoring in this one in spite of the loss, besting their total goals from their Week 1 match.
