Spring 2021 Thursday Wells HS TURF Coed REC 7v7 Soccer – Week 2

Cheeky Monkeys (1-0-1) vs. Plant-Based Plants (1-1) – Thursday, April 8, 2021

Andrew Troy scored two goals to lead Cheeky Monkeys to a 5-2 victory over Plant-Based Plants in Week 2 of the Thursday Wells HS TURF Coed 7v7 Soccer League. Cheeky Monkeys really stepped up in this one, exceeding their opening game point total. Lauren Waggoner, Edward Fleming and Mark Araci each fired in one goal apiece for Cheeky Moneys to help their squad secure their first victory of the season.  For Cheeky Monkeys, each contest is a critical opportunity to heat up. United Nations Football Club (1-2-0) are next on the schedule for Cheeky Monkeys coming up in Week 3 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Plant-Based Plants struggled on both ends of the pitch in this game, scoring fewer than their total from their Week 1 game. The losing team still had notable players including Sam Viola, who scored their league-leading 4th goal of the season for Plant-Based Plants.  For Plant-Based Plants next on the schedule is INDY Team #5 (0-1-0) coming up in Week 3 as they look to get back into the winner’s circle.

 

ASPCA (1-0-1) vs. United Nations Football Club (1-2) – Thursday, April 8, 2021

ASPCA cruised past United Nations Football Club 7-0 in Week 2 of the Thursday Wells HS TURF Coed 7v7 Soccer League behind braces from Michael Hurley and Tom Heppard. ASPCA really showed up in this contest, exceeding their opening game point total. ASPCA’s goalie Trevor Wolf played very well in the shutout victory. The win makes it four points from their first two games for ASPCA and sees them currently sitting in a tie for first place in the League Standings. ASPCA will look to stay atop the League Standings with another W coming up in Week 3. INDY Team #5 (0-1-0) are next on the calendar for ASPCA. United Nations Football Club had two games on their schedule in Week 2. In contrast to their second game of the evening, the defense crumbled in critical moments in this contest and gave up a Week 2 league-high seven goals. For United Nations Football Club, they could not dwell on this loss for too long as they had to step right back onto the pitch and take on INDY Team #5. More on this game below.

 

United Nations Football Club (1-2) vs. INDY Team #5 (0-1) – Thursday, April 8, 2021

In this Week 2 matchup in the Thursday Wells HS TURF Coed 7v7 Soccer League, the teams combined for an offensive explosion totaling 12 goals. Despite INDY Team #5’s impressive 5 goals, United Nations Football Club got the win with the other 7 goals. This was one of two games for United Nations Football Club this week. This was the better played match, which helped them lock in their #2 rank in the League Standings table. Sammy Stejskal, Felipe Rochi and Kaylee Gerhardt each knocked in two goals to lead the United Nations Football Club offense in this one. United Nations Football Club will look to record their second victory of the season coming up in Week 3. Cheeky Monkeys (1-0-1) are next on the docket for United Nations Football Club. Despite losing, INDY Team #5 has a ton of games remaining on their schedule to get better on the defensive end of the field. The losing team still had notable players including Omar Hakim and Julia, who each scored two goals for INDY Team #5 to help keep their squad in this game. As for INDY Team #5 next up is a game with ASPCA (1-0-1) as they attempt to get back into the win column.
