Spring 2021 Saturday Montrose TURF Men’s Competitive 11v11 Soccer League Recap – Week 6

Ekstra FC (5-1) vs. Bootin’ Boots (4-2-1) – Saturday, June 5, 2021

Ekstra FC closed out their regular season schedule with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Bootin’ Boots in Week 6 of the Saturday Montrose TURF Men’s 11v11 Soccer League. Ekstra FC only had one loss on their schedule during the regular season and it came against this same Bootin’ Boots squad back in Week 3. Fabian Carbajal leads Ekstra FC this season in scoring and added to their stats this week with another goal bringing Fabian Carbajal’s personal total to 2. John Sada also tallied their first goal of the season for Ekstra FC to help their squad secure the overall #1 seed for the upcoming postseason tournament. Ekstra FC will begin their postseason campaign on Saturday morning with a showdown against #4 Old Style FC (2-2-2) in the Semifinals. Sean Mccauley scored the only goal for Bootin’ Boots in this contest to prevent the shutout. With this Week 6 loss, Bootin’ Boots will begin their postseason journey on Saturday afternoon in the Semifinals as the overall #2 seed where they will now take on #3 seed Vitamin O (3-3-1).

 

Vitamin O (3-3-1) vs. Old Style FC (2-2-2) – Saturday, June 5, 2021

Earlier in the season back on opening day, these teams tied, but Vitamin O grabbed a convincing 5-1 win against Old Style FC in this rematch in Week 6 of the Saturday Montrose TURF Coed REC-INT 8v8 Soccer League. First shout-out goes to Ryan Murphy of Vitamin O who now is in the lead for the scoring title with 7 goals. Ryan Murphy racked up a hat trick to steer the Vitamin O offensive attack. With this dominating Week 6 victory, Vitamin O lock up the overall #3 seed for the upcoming postseason tournament. They will begin their postseason journey on Saturday in the Semifinals against #2 seed Bootin’ Boots (4-2-1). Clay Vichich scored the only goal for Old Style FC to get their team on the board in this one. This Week 6 loss will now see Old Style FC start their postseason campaign as the overall #4 seed. They will step on the pitch in the Semifinals on Saturday and take on #1 seed Extra FC (5-1-0) as they look to keep their season alive.
