Spring 2021 Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer – Week 3

Facebook FC (3-0) vs. You’re On Mute (0-1-1) – Monday, April 5, 2021

Facebook FC used a collective offensive effort to defeat You’re On Mute, 5-1, in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Emmanuel Okirie, Anna Cornille, Cesar Ruiz and Jesus all contributed goals to the Facebook FC Week 3 victory. Facebook FC could not celebrate this victory for too long however as they needed to step right back onto the pitch and take on Team Titans as they were scheduled for the Week 3 double header.  More on this game below. This lopsided Week 3 loss comes when You’re On Mute scored their personal best of the season. Gabriel Gaeta scored the only goal for You’re On Mute to get their team on the board for the first time this season. Coming up in Week 4, You’re On Mute battles against Miss Alex’s 20th grade class (1-0-1) in an attempt to get their first win of the season.

 

Facebook FC (3-0) vs. Team Titans (0-2-1) – Monday, April 5, 2021

Facebook FC put on a show on both sides of the pitch against Team Titans in the second game of their double header in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League with a final score of 2-0. This week, Facebook FC came ready for a double header. Incredibly, they won both matches and increased their total goals scored to 10. Mike Pearson and Jesus accounted for the goals for Facebook FC in this one. The Facebook FC goalie, Aldair Dominguez, deserves much of the credit after earning their first shutout of the season. Coming up in Week 4, Facebook FC will seek to stay perfect and atop the League Standings with a throwdown against ASPCA (3-0-0). Team Titans were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this game and suffered their first shutout of the season. Team Titans looks to put a 1 in the win column coming up in Week 4 with a match-up against INDY Team #7 (0-3-0).

 

Face Melters (1-2) vs. Team Awesome (0-1-2) – Monday, April 5, 2021

Both off to slow starts this season, neither team had a tally in the win column. Finally breaking their losing streak, Face Melters took home a win against Team Awesome with a final score of 4-0 in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Face Melters really brought it in this contest, beating their average of 1.7 goals per game. Four different players tallied their names onto the scorer’s sheet for Face Melters in this one to help earn their squad their first Win of the season. The defenders did a great job in this game for Face Melters by helping GK Robert Brunner earn a shutout. Next up for Face Melters is a battle against Zapateros (1-0-2) coming up in Week 4 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. This was Team Awesome’s first loss of the season but for the second straight week they failed to find the back of the net.  Coming up in Week 4, Team Awesome will attempt to get their first win with a match-up versus INDY Team #5 (2-0-1).

 

Soccer Hotties (3-0) vs. INDY Team #7 (0-3) – Monday, April 5, 2021

Soccer Hotties won their third straight game in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League thanks to four goals from Kylie DeHaven. The Soccer Hotties forward took all four of their goals really well as Soccer Hotties made it a perfect 9 points from their first three games. Job well done for Soccer Hotties and it sets them up well for their Week 4 matchup against Miss Alex’s 20th grade class (1-0-1). This heartbreaking loss comes when INDY Team #7 scored their personal best of the season. The losing team still had notable players including Jesus Ramos, who fired in a brace for INDY Team #7 to help keep their squad in this game. INDY Team #7 will look to tally their first point(s) of the season coming up in Week 4 versus Team Titans (0-2-1).

 

Zapateros (1-0-2) vs. Echo (0-2) – Monday, April 5, 2021

Echo could not pull together enough players in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League and had to take a forfeit loss to Zapateros. This was the first win of the year for Zapateros which saw them bring their season point total up to 5. Zapateros will attempt to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season coming up in Week 4 with a pairing against Face Melters (1-2-0). Coming up in Week 4, Echo will try to put a 1 in the win column with a match-up versus Game of Throw-Ins (0-3-0).

 

INDY Team #5 (2-0-1) vs. Miss Alex’s 20th grade class (1-0-1) – Monday, April 5, 2021

INDY Team #5 battled Miss Alex’s 20th grade class to a 1-1 draw in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. INDY Team #5 used their 1 goal scored in this game to boost their total goals this season to 6. Torrey Cameron scored the team’s only goal, saving their team from defeat and helping them earn the well-deserved point. Exiting Week 3, INDY Team #5 will look ahead to Team Awesome (0-1-2) who are next on the schedule coming up in Week 4. This was Miss Alex’s 20th grade class’s first tie this season and they are currently sitting in fifth place in the League Standings. Aaron Stone was the star player for Miss Alex’s 20th grade class this week. They scored the only goal for them.  For Miss Alex’s 20th grade class, they will face off with Soccer Hotties (3-0-0) coming up in Week 4.

 

ASPCA (3-0) vs. Game of Throw-Ins (0-3) – Monday, April 5, 2021

A hat-trick by Josh Mah lifted ASPCA to a 3-2 thrilling victory over Game of Throw-Ins in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Currently undefeated, ASPCA sits tied for 1st place in the League Standings with 3 wins. ASPCA will attempt to remain undefeated coming up in Week 4 with a huge contest against Facebook FC (3-0-0) with first place in the League Standings on the line. This heartbreaking loss comes when Game of Throw-Ins scored their personal best on the season. The losing team still had notable players including Eric Erli and Samantha Miller, who each fired in one goal for Game of Throw-Ins to help keep their squad in this game. Coming up in Week 4, Game of Throw-Ins faces off against Echo (0-2-0) in an attempt to put a 1 in the win column.
