Old Town Celtic finished with a 1-1 draw against RNG Ball Busters in the 2021 Spring season opener in Week 1 of the Friday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC-INT 8v8 Soccer League. It was a competitive first half of play on a beautiful and sunny evening at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Jacob Marks scored Old Town Celtic’s only goal, saving their team from defeat and helping them secure the crucial Week 1 point. Exiting week 1, Old Town Celtic will look ahead to INDY Team #4 (0-1-0) who are next on the calendar coming up in Week 2 as they look to secure their first win of the season. Gina Merlo was the star player for RNG Ball Busters this week. They scored the only goal for RNG Ball Busters to help their team secure the very important Week 1 point. For RNG Ball Busters they will go toe to toe with Gleacher’s Creatures (1-0-0) coming up in Week 2 as they look to put a 1 in the win column.

 

Gleacher’s Creatures (1-0) vs. INDY Team #4 (0-1) – Friday, June 4, 2021

Gleacher’s Creatures shut out INDY Team #4 with a final score of just 1-0 in Week 1 of the Friday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC-INT 8v8 Soccer League. If Gleacher’s Creatures keep playing like this, do not be surprised if they stay atop the League Standings board, as these guys are the early leaders with 3 points after one week of play. Spearheading the Gleacher’s Creatures offense, Mulin Shen scored their only goal to help their team secure the crucial Week 1 win. The Gleacher’s Creatures goalkeeper, Michael S., deserves much of the credit after earning a shutout. Coming up in Week 2, Gleacher’s Creatures will take on RNG Ball Busters (0-0-1), as they look for another win early on this season. The season is still young, and INDY Team #4 has significant amounts of games remaining on their schedule to improve on the offensive side of the ball. As for INDY Team #4 next up is a throwdown with Old Town Celtic (0-0-1) coming up in Week 2 as they to secure their first point(s) of the season.
