SPRING 2018 WED MONTROSE COED 11 VS. 11 SOCCER – CSSC LEAGUE RECAP – WEEK 8

Alright Alright Alright (3-4-3) vs. Kick in a Box (0-5-3) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
In this Quarter-Final game, the #4 seed, Alright Alright Alright, took on the #5 seed, Kick in a Box. The game ended in a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation time and the golden-goal over time didn’t produce a winner. So the two teams went to a shootout resulting in 3 made shots for Alright Alright Alright and only 2 for Kick in a Box. An extremely close match to say the least! Mike Mawdsley and Nathan are credited with the goals during regulation time for Alright Alright Alright. Alexander Puzyk and Dan McArdle scored the two goals for Kick in a Box during the game. This win advanced Alright Alright Alright to semi-finals, which was played as a double header. The exciting recap of that game is below. Unfortunately for Kick in a Box, this loss means the end of their season.

Train Wreck (5-1-2) vs. Alright Alright Alright (3-4-3) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
It was an exciting Semi-Final match-up, in which the #1 seed, Train Wreck, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #4 seed, Alright Alright Alright. The final score of 1-0 speaks to how close of a game this truly was. The two MVPs in were the goalkeeper for Train Wreck, Kevin Cahalin, with the shutout, and Randy Dziak who scored the only goal of the game. The win for Train Wreck advances them to the championship game where they’ll take on the #2 seed, Blue Guys. Alright Alright Alright’s loss means they are done in this single-elimination playoff schedule.

Blue Guys (4-2-2) vs. Zombies! (2-2-4) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
Blue Guys, the #2 seed, faced the #3 seed, Zombies!, in this Semi-Final match. No goals were scored during regulation time or the golden-goal overtime, so the winner had to be determined by a shootout. Outshooting their opponent 4-1, Blue Guys is on their way to the big game. They’ll face the #1 team, Train Wreck, in the championship next week, and this game is sure to be a close one. These teams have faced each other twice this season and Train Wreck has yet to beat Blue guys. This is the end of the road for Zombies! run in this league. There’s always next season.
