Monday Wells High School Men’s 7v7 Outdoor Soccer League Recap – Week 4

INDY Team #6 (1-2) vs. INDY Team #5 (0-5) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Going into this game, both teams were hungry for their first win of the season. Finally breaking their losing streak, INDY Team #6 grabbed a huge win against INDY Team #5 with a final score of 8-1 in Week 4 of the Monday Wells TURF Men’s 7v7 Soccer League. INDY Team #6 stepped up in this game, topping their average of 3.0 goals per game. Max and Johnny racked up a hat trick to guide the team’s offense. GK Robert Rashid played amazing in net for INDY Team #6 in this contest as they allowed only ball to sneak by them in net. Cacatuas FC (3-1-0) are next up on the docket for INDY Team #6, as they look to keep it going and record back-t0-back victories for the first time this season. They have played five total games and INDY Team #5 have only scored a total of 5 goals all season. Julian Romano scored the only goal for INDY Team #5 in this contest to prevent the shutout. Coming up in Week 5, INDY Team #5 will try to get their first win of the season with a match-up against Vitamin O (3-1-0).

 

Beercelona (3-1) vs. Vitamin O (3-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

In this highly anticipated match-up, these two teams competed in an absolute shoot-out, totaling 12 goals. Despite Vitamin O’s impressive 5 goals, Beercelona got the win with the other 7 goals. Vitamin O came into this match-up riding high on a three-game winning streak, but that is all gone now. The losing team still had notable players including Cody Balogh and Mike O., who each recorded a brace for Vitamin O. Sandro Silva also got into the scoring mix for Vitamin O, tallying their 7th goal of the year. Unfortunately for Sandro Silva and the rest of the Vitamin O crew, it just was not enough to get past a determined Beercelona squad. Next up for Vitamin O is a match-up against INDY Team #5 (0-5-0), as they try to bounce back from this tough defeat. After dropping their season opener to Cacatuas FC, Beercelona has now ripped off three consecutive wins and they are now officially on fire! Simone Kolodezh was unstoppable for Beercelona in this contest, knocking in 4 goals to lead the crew’s attack. Gewargis Samuel also contributed to the team’s final score, knocking in a brace to bring their season goal scoring total up to 4. Cacatuas FC (3-1) vs. Vitamin O Yeah (3-2) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Cacatuas FC and Vitamin O Yeah competed in a low scoring affair, combining for three goals in Week 4 of the Monday Wells TURF Men’s 7v7 Soccer League. Cacatuas FC took home the crucial 2-1 victory. This win is the second in a row for Cacatuas FC, and it bumps them up into a four-way tie for 1st place in the league standings with 9 total points. Carlos Ramirez fired in his fourth goal of the season to help gain the crew the win. GK Maximino Caballero Gomez was fantastic in net for Cacatuas FC in this contest, holding the highest scoring team in the league to just 1 goal! INDY Team #6 (1-2-0) are next up on the calendar for Cacatuas FC coming up in Week 5, as they look to build on this huge Week 4 victory. Despite losing, Vitamin O Yeah has been doing great on offense all year, with a league-leading total of 36 goals. Unfortunately, they ran into a GK for Cacatuas FC that was determined to keep the ball out of the back of the net. Chris W. scored the only goal for Vitamin O Yeah to save them from a shutout. Beercelona (3-1-0) are next up on the schedule for Vitamin O Yeah coming up in Week 5, as they look to rebound from this heartbreaking defeat.
