Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Outdoor Soccer League Recap – Week 4

Team#1 (1-2-1) vs. Barcapool (1-2-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

It took a little over half the season, but Team#1 finally earned their first win of the season in the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League! They defeated Barcapool 2-1. This victory for Team#1 came as a bit of a surprise considering it is more than halfway through the season and they have only scored three total goals. Kyle F. led his team to victory by recording a brace to spearhead the crew’s attack. Ben’s Angels (3-0-0) are next up on the schedule for Team#1 coming up in Week 5, as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Cristian Gonzales scored their first goal of the season and only goal for Barcapool in this contest to save them from a shutout. Barcapool will have an additional week to stew over this tough defeat as they are scheduled for the BYE coming up in Week 5.

 

Back That Pass Up (3-0) vs. Pass it to the Italians! (1-2) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Back That Pass Up and Pass it to the Italians! competed in a low scoring affair, combining for three goals in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Back That Pass Up took home the 2-1 victory. Ryan Boonstra knocked in his 7th goal of the season to provide some scoring in this contest for Back That Pass Up. Ryan Boonstra of Back That Pass Up who now has the most goals in the league with 7 goals. Back That Pass Up will seek to stay perfect coming up in Week 5 with a pairing against ASPCA (2-0-1). Pass it to the Italians! have had a rough season. It is week 4 and they have only scored a total of 5 goals. Morgan Rankey scored the only goal for Pass it to the Italians! to save them from a shutout. Team Cool Kids (2-1-1) is next up on the docket for Pass it to the Italians! coming up in Week 5, as they try to bounce back from this tough defeat.

 

Kinexon FC (0-2-1) vs. Retired Broz FC (0-2-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Kinexon FC and Retired Broz FC competed in an absolute shootout that finished with six total goals in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. They finished knotted up at 3-3. This offensive explosing for the Kinexon FC crew came as a pleasant surprise considering its week 4 and they had only scored 1 goal in their previous two matches. David Crowe knocked in a brace for Kinexon FC to spearhead the crew’s offense while Guillermo Contreras contributed with a goal as well. Exiting week 4, Kinexon FC looks ahead to 99 problems but a pitch ain’t 1 (2-0-1) who are next on the calendar coming up in Week 5. This is Retired Broz FC’s first tie this season and they are currently still looking for their first W of the season. In the tie, Jennifer Flannery netted a brace for Retired Broz FC. For Retired Broz FC they will go toe to toe with Lori’s Lightfut (2-1-1) coming up in Week 5.

 

Team Cool Kids (2-1-1) vs. Cat Facts FC (1-3) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Team Cool Kids put on a show on both sides of the pitch against Cat Facts FC with a final score of 3-0. Team Cool Kids really stepped up in this game, beating their average of 1.8 goals per game. Team Cool Kids’s goalkeeper Jeff Carpenter deserves much of the credit after earning a clean sheet, his second of the season! On the offensive end of the pitch, Nick Glick was the MVP for Team Cool Kids as they recorded a hat-trick to spearhead the victory and help earn the group the win. Pass it to the Italians! (1-2-0) are next up on the calendar for Team Cool Kids, as they look to stretch their current unbeaten streak to four games. Cat Facts FC were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this game and could not seem to find the back of the net. It was the third straight game that Cat Facts FC have failed to find the back of the net. Next up for Cat Facts FC is a showdown against You’re on Mute (INDY #8) (0-4-0), as they attempt to snap their current three game losing streak.

 

99 problems but a pitch ain’t 1 (2-0-1) vs. Lori’s Lightfut (2-1-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

99 problems but a pitch ain’t 1 flashed its offensive firepower in a 6-1 win over Lori’s Lightfut in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. This win is the second in a row for 99 problems but a pitch ain’t 1, and picked up a much needed three points in the league standings.  Adam Yaghmour and Johnny Arzeta each scored a hat trick to steer the squad’s attack. 99 problems but a pitch ain’t 1 will look to stay perfect coming up in Week 5 with a pairing against Kinexon FC (0-2-1). This is Lori’s Lightfut’s first loss of the season. Jake Degler scored the only goal for Lori’s Lightfut to prevent the shutout. Next up for Lori’s Lightfut is a battle against Retired Broz FC (0-2-1) coming up in Week 5, as they attempt to bounce back from this lopsided defeat.

 

2 goals 1 cup (1-2) vs. It’s About To Get Messi (1-2-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

It took a little over half the season, but 2 goals 1 cup finally earned their first win in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League! They defeated It’s About To Get Messi 3-0. This win for the 2 goals 1 cup came as a bit of a surprise considering its week 4 and they have only scored a total of 4 goals. Sean Kirwan accounted for two goals while Ben Stone fired one in to provide some insurance. Shout-out to goalkeeper, Jeff Kinka, for the shutout! Next up for 2 goals 1 cup is a contest against Carlton’s Kidz (1-2-0) coming up in Week 5. It’s About To Get Messi were unable to get rolling on offense in this one and were shut out for the second time this season. They have only scored two goals in their first four games this season. ESPN Soccer (0-2-1) are next up on the schedule for It’s About To Get Messi coming up in Week 5, as they attempt to get their offense on track.

 

Wiggity Wack (3-0-1) vs. INDY Team #25 (1-2-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Wiggity Wack and INDY Team #25 competed in a low scoring affair, combining for three goals in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Wiggity Wack took home the 2-1 victory. Wiggity Wack really showed some toughness in this game, winning despite allowing more goals than their season-long goals against average of 0.8 goals per game. Christian Hoekwater led his team to victory by recording a brace in this contest. Wiggity Wack will have an extra week to revel in this beautiful victory as they are scheduled for the BYE coming up in Week 5. INDY Team #25 really struggled to get it going in terms of scoring in this game, scoring less than their average of 2.0 GPG this year. Jesus Ramos scored the only goal for INDY Team #25 to save them from a shutout. Next up for INDY Team #25 is a battle against Trailblazers FC (1-1-1) coming up in Week 5, as they look to put this heartbreaking defeat behind them.

 

ASPCA (2-0-1) vs. Just Closing Our Rings (2-1-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

ASPCA crushed Just Closing Our Rings 6-1 in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. ASPCA really stepped up in this one, surpassing their average of 3.0 goals per game.  Cassie Wheldon recorded a brace and earned the most tallies on the scoresheet for ASPCA. Four other players tallied their names onto the scorer’s sheet for ASPCA to put this Week 4 victory in the bag. Coming up in Week 5, ASPCA will try to stay undefeated with a crucial matchup against Back That Pass Up (3-0-0). This is Just Closing Our Rings’s first loss of the season. Hector Hernandez scored the only goal for Just Closing Our Rings to prevent the shutout. Next up for Just Closing Our Rings is a match-up against Game of Throw-Ins (3-1-0) coming up in Week 5, as they look to get back into the winner’s circle.

 

Trailblazers FC (1-1-1) vs. Team Awesome (1-2) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Trailblazers FC celebrated a team milestone this week as they earned their first win of the season, defeating Team Awesome 2-1 in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. This victory for the Trailblazers FC crew came as a surprise however, considering its week 4 and they have only scored less than a handful goals. Mike Goldberg and Chris led their team to victory in this contest as they each fired in one goal to steer the club’s attack. Next up for Trailblazers FC is a match-up versus INDY Team #25 (1-2-1) coming up in Week 5 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Team Awesome have had a rough season up to this point. It is week 4 and they have only scored a total of 3 goals. Simon Lockwood-Bean tallied the only goal for Team Awesome in this contest to get their team on the board. Next up for Team Awesome is a showdown against Soccer Hotties (2-0-1) coming up in Week 5, as they look to record their second win of the season.

 

Net Six and Chill (3-0-1) vs. You’re on Mute (INDY #8) (0-4) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Net Six and Chill were incredible on both sides of the pitch against You’re on Mute (INDY #8) with a final score of 7-0 in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Net Six and Chill are having a fantastic offensive season. They are averaging 4 goals per game. Christina Ordonez was unstoppable and tallied 4 goals to spearhead the crew’s offense. Austin Andrekus also contributed to the team’s final score, firing in a brace to put an exclamation point on this Week 4 win. Net Six and Chill will have an extra week to soak up this huge victory as they have a BYE coming up in Week 5. You’re on Mute (INDY #8) struggled to get it going on the offensive end in this game and came short of making it onto the scoreboard. Ben’s Angels (3-0) vs. Summit Sweepers (1-2-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Summit Sweepers could not pull together enough players for this game and had to forfeit to Ben’s Angels. Ben’s Angels are heating up with two wins in a row. On Monday, Ben’s Angels face off against Team#1 (1-2-1) in an attempt to stay undefeated. Avocado Discoballs (0-2-1) are next up on the schedule for Summit Sweepers coming up in Week 5, as they try to bounce back from this forfeit defeat.

 

Game of Throw-Ins (3-1) vs. ESPN Soccer (0-2-1) – Monday, October 12, 2020

Game of Throw-Ins put on a show on both sides of the pitch against ESPN Soccer with a final score of 3-0 in Week 4 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Game of Throw-Ins continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire! Steven Childs racked up a hat trick to steer the team’s offense. GK Jacob Parmater was fantastic in net for Game of Throw-Ins as they recorded a shutout! Next up for Game of Throw-Ins is a showdown versus Just Closing Our Rings (2-1-1) coming up in Week 5 as they look to record their fourth win of the season. ESPN Soccer were unable to get rolling on offense in this one, and suffered a shutout, their second of the season. Coming up in Week 5, ESPN Soccer battles against It’s About To Get Messi (1-2-1) as they try to record their first win of the season.
